Supporting the evolution of a historic Spanish golf club through modern agronomy and management
La Marquesa Golf & Country Club in Rojales, Alicante, is entering a new phase of development, with plans to enhance both its golf offering and wider leisure facilities as part of an evolving masterplan. Originally designed by Jose Quesda, the 18-hole course has long been a central part of the local community and is now positioned for renewed investment and long-term growth.
Turfgrass® is working in collaboration with Ion 54 to provide combined golf course management and agronomy consultancy services, supporting the club as it explores opportunities to elevate course standards, operational performance and overall member experience.
The engagement includes on-site agronomic assessment, course condition analysis and stakeholder advisory, alongside the use of a data-driven digital platform to capture real-time insights across the property. This approach enables informed decision-making across key areas of golf course maintenance, infrastructure planning and future development strategy.
With plans for a new clubhouse, expanded sports facilities and potential upgrades to the golf course, the project reflects a long-term vision to strengthen La Marquesa’s position within the region. Turfgrass®’s role is to provide the technical expertise, strategic guidance and performance-focused agronomy needed to support this evolution.
