La Grande Mare has undergone a complete redevelopment to create a more open, strategic and resilient golf course.
The 18-hole, par-69 course was redesigned by Robin Hiseman of European Golf Design. The new layout measures 5,367 yards and features wider fairways, refined bunkering, links-inspired landforms and enhanced water features.
Working alongside European Golf Design, Course Manager Rick Hamilton and golf course contractor MJ Abbott, Turfgrass® developed the agronomic and technical framework for the project.
Detailed specifications were prepared for the greens, surrounds, tees, fairways and roughs, with construction profiles, materials, drainage, turf selection and establishment methods tailored to each playing area.
The result is a completely rebuilt course supported by modern drainage, irrigation and agronomic infrastructure, together with a long-term management plan designed to protect the quality, playability and strategic character of the new layout.
