In 2001, Turfgrass® was commissioned to develop and manage a world-class golf academy for three-time Major champion, Padraig Harrington, at his home near Dublin. Turfgrass® oversaw the entire process, from agronomy to construction specifications, creating a state-of-the-art facility tailored to Harrington’s rigorous training needs.
The academy features one main green and five target greens, diverse bunkers, and multiple shot-making areas, allowing Harrington to practice various on-course scenarios. Unique tees were also incorporated to provide options when practising approach shots. Twenty-three years later, Turfgrass® continues to maintain the pristine condition of the facility, reflecting their commitment to high standards.

Harrington’s facility has played a key role in his success, helping him win three Major championships and, more recently, the U.S. Senior Open on the Champions Tour. This partnership highlights the importance of bespoke practice environments for elite athletes and Turfgrass®’s ability to blend technical precision with aesthetic beauty.

Turfgrass®’s collaboration with Harrington has extended to other projects, including the development of the Marlay Park Putting Green in Dublin, a free community facility that demonstrates their shared commitment to growing the game of golf.
